It’s the New Year and time to plan your next in-store event. Why not focus on March Madness, Spring Break and Spring Holidays.

March Madness In-Store Event:
For retailers looking for a fun in-store promotion, we suggest our four-week program - Draw, Dribble and Dunk – You’ll need a basketball, a hoop, a vinyl floor mat with product id shoot spots and a deck of participating product cards.

Go online to SampleSecure.com and book one event coordinator per store, at the low Retex price offered exclusively to member companies.

Then find 16 product companies looking for extra in-store space in March. With Spring Holidays, March Madness and Spring Break all occurring in the same month, it shouldn't be that hard to round up willing suppliers.

Shoppers pick a card from the deck. The card will have a product logo on it. The shopper advances (dribbles) to the spot on the vinyl mat that matches his/her product logo. From that point on the mat, they take their shot – hoping to dunk the ball in the basket. Each store plays until they have 16 finalists.

The 16 successful slam dunk shoppers return the following week for a replay, where they are whittled down to 8 and then the following week to the final 4 shoppers who play for a $5000 in-store shopping spree.

Spring Break In-Store Event:
Spring Break continues to be a recession proof event with families and college students taking part in various activities. Depending on the store location – snow skiing is as popular hot sandy beaches – there are a variety of products that can be sold including sun tan lotions, lip balms, soft drinks, snack foods, etc. SampleSecure.com offers a completely mobile field force that can bring your products to popular locations.

Springtime In-Store Event:
A free photo with Easter Bunny is also something that can be staged at multiple times throughout the month. By planning the events by age group, you can attract different product companies. You’ll need a willing employee to play the Easter Bunny, a costume and one event conductor to manage the traffic and take the pictures.
For stores that develop photos on premise - to keep shoppers in the store longer, photos taken at 9 am are ready by 10:30 am; photos taken at 9:30 am are ready by 11 am, etc.

Bring the Luck of the Irish into Your In-Store Event:
Lastly, there’s St. Patrick’s Day, a great day to have an in-store scavenger hunt for shamrocks, four leaf clovers, leprechauns and pots of gold. You’ll need four product companies, an event conductor and two employees to hide/replenish the items.

Families/Shoppers register between 9-11 am for a time to return and hunt later that day. This is done in order to stagger the event traffic. Contestants follow a charted course through the store – there’s no going backwards – and endeavor to find as many items as possible. Timing is 30 seconds per aisle times the number of aisles in the store. Little prizes are fine.

Have ideas of your own or want to try one of the above. Implementing is easy. Simply go online to SampleSecure.com and book one in-store event conductor per location.
