“Coming Together is a beginning…Keeping Together is progress…Working Together is success.”
“Coming together is a beginning”
…In the early 1990′s twelve retail executives had an idea: to pool their resources, experience, and investment capital to form a technology buying consortium, expressly designed to purchase retail technology-based services with substantially better rates and terms than retailers could individually negotiate. As a result, Retex Cooperative, Inc., a not for profit consortium, was formed in 1992 for the exclusive benefit of its membership. Retex returns all earnings to its member companies in the form of refunds and dividends, retaining only enough capital to cover its operating expenses and reserves.
“Keeping together is progress”
…Through the tremendous cooperative efforts made by the founding Board Members, the Retex Staff and our Solution Providers, our membership has grown from 12 to more than 2,300 member companies in just nine years. In that short time Retex has formed partnerships with best-in-class solution providers, assembling a program portfolio that delivers voice and data telecommunications, network level systems integration, plus financial and interactive business services to retailers all over the world.
“Working together is success”
… As a testimony to the consortium’s success, since 1992, Retex has returned more than $100,000,000 to its member companies in rebates and dividends. Member companies join only those programs that make financial sense for their organizations. We continually keep our membership updated on program offerings, retail-technology industry trends, and newly formed partnerships, through our World Wide Web home page, newsletters, press releases, direct mail campaigns, and our trade show booths. Retex will continue to provide an opportunity for retailers to increase their savings on mission-critical services. Our numbers attest to our accomplishments. We invite you to join us and become part of the success story.
